12/4/2016 0 Comments Madrigal DinnersThis week has been a stressful week. It's the week before dead week in classes, also the week after break, and I served at our college's annual madrigal dinners. I have never been a server or a waitress before, but I now have a new appreciation for them. The first night was crazy. It was hectic and I wasn't given good instructions; however, I did very well in tips considering it was my first time ever doing that sort of thing. The second night was a little better. I now had a better understanding of what to do, and I got two adorable kids at my table! Then finally, the last night arrives. My dad came down to see the show and to help me out with tips. But I didn't only have him. Oh no, I had a big happy family as well. I'm fine with dealing with families because I love kids, but their father and grandfather are, what we (the servers) call pushers. They are very needy and push things on to you. See at a madrigal, at least ours, we are only allowed to do things at certain times. Like clear dishes or refill drinks. If we don't do things in a certain order, then we get yelled at by the lady in charge. So at the beginning of the night, I'm getting their drinks, and the grandfather and grandmother push their coffee cups at me. I'm not supposed to take them, but they literally put them in my arms as I was walking away. So I drop them off and am trying to get ice out of one of the cups for the father. However, all of the ice is frozen in all of our cups. I try and explain that to him, but instead of saying that's ok, he is very adamant about not having ice in his Pepsi. They kept getting progressively pushier as the night goes on, but finally after they get dinner, my father reveals to them that I'm his daughter. And it was like a light bulb went off. They turned from people that were making me nervous and pull my hair out to some of the sweetest people I've ever seen. Once the night is over with, I go back to the table to clean it off and collect my tip. And I was astonished by how much they had tipped me. Anyways, I just have learned a lesson here. Be nice to your waiters cause you never know what they might be dealing with at another table. So finals week is next week and Christmas is coming up soon, I'm going to leave a funny picture to help cheer up anyone's week/day. And please, leave a comment letting me know what kind of content you would like to see. Thanks for reading, and see y'all next week!! https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/4e/85/8d/4e858d6135e13acbfe40f46fb3491cee.jpg

about BloggingI will try to post a blog every week, if not every other day. It depends on what happens during the week/day, but I will post every week. It just that some weeks may seem boring, which is where I will blog about the week and then will provide an anecdote from my childhood. That's besides the point, I hope you enjoy reading!
