7/31/2017 0 Comments Fishing and SnakesFirst a quick update on this week. I finished my last week of work, and traveled the eight hours back home to beautiful Kentucky. It has been a pretty easy weekend so far, and on Tuesday I help my roommate move back into college. Then I have three weeks of nothing until I go back to college.
Okay, so since last weeks post was short, and this weeks post would have been short if I had just left it at the first paragraph, I'm going to give a quick anecdote from my childhood. It was the summer of 2009, and I was 11 years old. My sister was turning 9 and for her birthday she wanted to go fishing. My uncle had a boat, and we always camped her birthday week. So he took us out in it to fish. I don't really enjoy fishing (I don't have the patience) but I was excited for her. Also with us in the boat was my aunt and my mother. So we are out on the lake with the fishing lines out, waiting for a tug on the poles, talking and having a good time. Then my aunt sees something out on the water that was heading for my sister. She was trying to tell her to move over to where my uncle was, without scaring her or my mother. Next thing I know I'm in my mother's lap with my mom screaming. It was a snake that was coming towards us. A thing to note is my mother is very terrified of snakes. My uncle is attacking the thing, as it's climbing into the boat, with his fishing pole and hook. I can remember him poking holes in it, it was bleeding, but never killing it. My aunt had my sister, and my mom was trying to take me into the water. Her scrambling was rocking the boat and at one point almost tipping us into the water. My aunt pulled on her and lugged her to the other side of the small boat. This rocked it even more and we almost tipped the other way. Finally, the snake got scared off and swam away. We immediately went back to the docks and left. After that incident my uncle didn't take his boat back out and eventually sold it. I haven't been fishing since. But it has always been a funny story to share with others. About how I almost ended up in a lake because my mom was terrified of snakes. Anyway, this has been the blog this week. If you enjoyed it, let me know in the comments below and let me know what you would like to see next week or in the weeks to come. Share this blog with others, if you want, and don't forget to follow me on social media! Thanks and see you all next week!

7/24/2017 0 Comments Long Time No SeeIt has been a while since I last left a blog post on here. I have just been super busy with life and got discouraged, but I want to write these posts for myself to have to look back on. Anyways, nothing new has changed. I finished my freshman year of college, with a okay GPA. I also have completed a summer's worth of work at my dad's work place, making pretty good money, to put towards the London study abroad trip. I start sophomore year in August, and can't wait. I'll leave a picture of our finished dorm room on here after we get it fixed up.
Also I have changed on how much I'm going to post on here. To help make it a habit, I'm going to post once a week on here (not sure how much I was posting before). Again if you have any ideas on what you, the reader, wants to see please leave them in the comments below. If you are bored please fill out the survey on the home page, so I can get more of an idea on who is reading this. Thanks! |
about BloggingI will try to post a blog every week, if not every other day. It depends on what happens during the week/day, but I will post every week. It just that some weeks may seem boring, which is where I will blog about the week and then will provide an anecdote from my childhood. That's besides the point, I hope you enjoy reading!
